Tasty Mince and Pasta for the Family
So here is a quick and easy comfort food meal made with just three Martinnaise sauces, some of my favourite brands and a few simple steps. This recipe covers Plant-Based and Keto/Banting Lifestyles.
You will need:
1 pack Beyond Mince or Fry’s Family Pea Protein Mince or mince of your choice
1 onion, diced
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
2 medium sized Jam tomatoes, diced
2 tsp Usisi Brands Chakalaka Seasoning
Himalayan Crystal Rock Salt and Cracked Black Pepper to taste – do this last & taste first before adding! You may be seasoned enough already!
2 tsp Soya-Free Soya style Sauce
5 tbs Sugar Free Tomato Sauce
4 tbs of your favourite Martinnaise Mayo
Avocado oil for frying
Gluten free pasta – I used single ingredient pea protein spaghetti (but any one will do)
** I recommend Keto and Banting use Gigi Banting Baker Konjac Noodles
Red and yellow Bell peppers, thinly sliced and fresh Basil for garnishing
Let’s put it together:
Cook pasta according to instructions on the packaging, rinse, drain and set aside.
In a medium sized skillet, add enough avocado oil (or the oil you prefer) for frying and place over a medium heat. First sauté the onions and when about halfway done add the garlic. Once the garlic is soft add the mince, Usisi Brands seasoning and Soya-Free Soya Sauce. Stir while cooking.
When the mince is cooked, add the tomatoes and cook over low heat for a further 5 minutes. Add mayo and mix in cooked pasta. Dish up and garnish with bell peppers and fresh Basil
